Kazakhstan – Business Models for Battery Storage (World Bank, 2024)

o Challenge: Kazakhstan needed to identify viable options to integrate variable renewables into its power system

o Work performed: Assessed suitable business models for battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance grid flexibility

o Outcome: Provided a set of regulatory and commercial options to enable higher renewable penetration

Jordan – Electricity Market Reform (World Bank, 2024–2025)

o Challenge: Jordan aims to transition from a single-buyer model toward a competitive bilateral contracts market

o Work performed: Analysed international experiences and designed a roadmap for gradual market liberalization

o Outcome: Delivered actionable lessons learned and transition strategies to support reform implementation

Bosnia & Herzegovina – RES Auction Design (GIZ, 2022–2023)

o Challenge: The country needed to finalize a framework for renewable energy support aligned with EU best practices

o Work performed: Assessed best-practices in auction design, proposed auction legislation amendments, conducted impact analysis, and delivered workshops with stakeholders

o Outcome: Supported the government in progressing to launch a bankable and transparent RES auction mechanism

Croatia – Due Diligence of BESS Project (EBRD, 2022–2023)

o Challenge: Investors required a comprehensive assessment of a planned 60 MW BESS and Virtual Power Plant

o Work performed: Reviewed technical and commercial aspects, market context, and financial model assumptions

o Outcome: Provided the EBRD with confidence in the project’s viability and investment risks

Egypt – Private Sector Participation in Electricity Markets (EBRD, 2021–2022)

o Challenge: Egypt needed to strengthen its regulatory framework to attract private investment in electricity generation

o Work performed: Reviewed existing policies, proposed reforms, and advised on market liberalization measures

o Outcome: Delivered implementation support that increased opportunities for private-to-private merchant generation.

Europe – Power Due Diligence for Data Centers (Europe, 2023–2024)

o Challenge: Client needed to assess risks and opportunities for connecting large-scale data centers across 19 European markets

o Work performed: Led analysis of power markets, grid conditions, and regulatory risks

o Outcome: Identified optimal connection strategies and investment risks for long-term expansion.

Hungary – Market Development for Solar & Storage (Confidential, 2022–2023)

o Challenge: Investors were evaluating opportunities in Hungary’s growing solar PV and BESS sectors

o Work performed: Conducted economic and financial modelling of potential projects, analyzing revenue streams and market conditions

o Outcome: Highlighted investment opportunities and informed business case structuring

Argentina – Electric Mobility Strategy (World Bank, 2022–2023)

o Challenge: Buenos Aires needed a comprehensive strategy for deploying EV charging infrastructure

o Work performed: Designed both short- and long-term development strategies, accounting for regulatory, financial, and distributional factors

o Outcome: Delivered a roadmap for scaling electric mobility that balanced affordability, regulation, and infrastructure needs
